Nagiryu Double Detent Folder – Prototype Run (30 pcs)
The Nagiryu is my take on a modern Japanese-inspired gentleman’s folder—clean, precise, and purpose-driven.
The long, straight tanto blade and arched, skeletonized handle echo traditional Japanese design, but everything about this piece is tuned for today’s EDC world. The hollow-ground LC200N blade offers excellent corrosion resistance and slicing performance, while the stainless steel PVD-coated frame keeps it slim, tough, and pocket-friendly at just 1.26 oz (36 g).
A double-detent mechanism and nail-nick opening give the Nagiryu a smooth, satisfying, non-locking feel that’s perfect for light daily tasks, food prep, or fidgeting at the desk. It carries ambidextrously and disappears in the pocket, but those cut-out handle windows and the crisp tanto profile make sure it still turns heads when you deploy it.
To keep the price at $160 without sacrificing quality or precision, I partnered with DOTS in Taiwan on a future large-scale production. Before that full run happens, I’m releasing a very limited prototype batch—only 30 pieces available from this first production run.
